Jury finds man 65 percent at fault, awards him $11M

A Los Angeles County jury returned a $31 million verdict for a man who was hit by a car as he crossed a street near Los Angeles International Airport.

LOS ANGELES -- A superior court jury returned a $31 million verdict for a man hit by a car as he jaywalked near Los Angeles International Airport, but he will get only $11 million because he was found to be 65 percent at fault.

The verdict delivered Friday consists of $9 million for future medical needs, $456,000 in past medical costs, $1.7 million for future lost wages and $20 million in non-economic damages.
