Former San Francisco federal judge remembered for wide-ranging career, civic pursuits
Retired federal judge and former Deputy U.S. Attorney General Charles B. Renfrew died Dec. 14 in San Francisco. He was 89.
SAN FRANCISCO — Charles B. Renfrew, a retired federal judge and former deputy U.S. attorney general died Thursday. He was 89.
Born in Detroit in 1928, Renfrew served both Republican and Democratic administrations. He was appointed to the Northern District of California bench by President Richard M. Nixon and later was made deputy attorney general under the administration of President Jimmy Carter.
