In my latest issue of “Popular Woodworking” (don’t’ ask — we all have our little hobbies) there was a fascinating article on the meaning of certain words used to describe woods and wood finishes. Two of the words, neither of which I had ever seen, stood out as having a direct connection with mediation: Chatoyancy and Thixotropic.
