Glendale-based Public Storage announced the promotion of Nathaniel A. Vitan to chief legal officer. He replaced Lily Y. Hughes, who had been with the company since January 2015.

"His multi-faceted experience, proven abilities and impeccable character make him well-suited for the position. The company and its shareholders will benefit from his continued leadership going forward," Public Storage CEO Joe Russell said in a statement.
