To improve ability to ‘read rightly,’ focus on inconsistencies, not demeanor
In his January 10 guest column, “Talking to strangers: Lessons for lawyers,” Syed H. Mannan states, “As lawyers, this social science research is as critical as next week’s Supreme Court advance sheets.” I couldn’t agree more that it would behoove lawyers and judges to pay more attention to research in other fields that relates to our field, including the social science research.
