Delayed ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ release brings suit over expired copyright
“The release got pushed because they wanted to continue working on it. Paramount didn’t release the draft of the movie until December 2020. That dog doesn’t hunt,” said Marc Toberoff of Toberoff & Associates PC.




While "Top Gun: Maverick" is breaking records at the box office, a federal lawsuit was filed Monday stating the rights to a magazine article that inspired the original movie and its long-awaited sequel expired more than two years ago.
