The recent flurry of U.S. Supreme Court decisions have hit the left-of-center hard. Abortion rights, protection of the environment and voting rights have all suffered serious set-backs.

I join these concerns, but there's another set of cases that bothers me in a more personal way: the Establishment of Religion opinions. I'll focus on two of them - one that preceded Trump's recent appointments, and one that came after.
