Discovery reopened in CJP hearing for Lassen County judge

Judge Tony R. Mallery asked the special masters to continue a hearing on formal proceedings and defer setting a new hearing date until discovery disputes have been resolved and the defense has had an opportunity to review the thousands of pages produced during discovery.

The special masters presiding over disciplinary proceedings concerning Judge Tony R. Mallery of the Lassen County Superior Court have granted his motion for a continuance and have reopened discovery.

The judge is charged with ethics violations including willful misconduct, and is accused of saying he would “go postal” if he were removed from the bench, among other accusations.
