Environmentalists says Butte County project violates CEQA
Attorneys for the Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club, and AquAlliance highlighted the fire risks they said are associated with the Valley’s Edge development, a 1,448-acre housing project next to Chico. The organizations argue that the environmental impact report fails to adequately plan for fire evacuation.





Three environmental groups sued the city of Chico in Butte County Superior Court claiming multiple violations of the California Environmental Quality Act, or CEQA, amid growing calls for change to the legislation from politicians and interested organizations.
