Assembly Judicary chairman vows ‘firm hand’ on State Bar

“I think the bar has had a really long list of failures,” Assemblyman Brian Maienschein said. “They have spent their money unwisely. Their oversight, particularly in the area of discipline, has been unsuccessful and problematic.”

The new chair of the state Assembly Judiciary committee has pledged to take "a firm hand" with the California State Bar.

"They have a long litany of problems," Assembly Judiciary Chair Brian Maienschein, D-San Diego, told the Daily Journal on Monday. "I intend to have a firm hand with them."
