Modeling justice in Georgia, New York, and California: Some contrasts
Perhaps now the story of these polar opposites may be seen as intellectual balm for the pervasively sour public and political divisions now extant in our country, especially in connection with so many state and federal judicial nomination and selection processes.





During debate on the Georgia State Senate floor on Valentine's Day, Black state Sen. Emanuel Jones (D-Decatur) castigated U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as a traitor to his race. Floor debate was underway on whether to place a statue of the jurist at the state Capitol.
