Plaintiffs pared, expertise argued in Juul trial preparation
Attorneys for Altria, the largest investor in Juul Labs, met with the plaintiffs’ lawyers Friday to argue over motions to dismiss plaintiffs in more than 600 cases and motions in limine, specifically over expert scientific witnesses. The lawsuit alleges Altria conspired to market vaping to minors.
Both sides are paring hundreds of cases as the first bellwether trial approaches for the multidistrict litigation against Altria Group Inc. for allegedly being major contributors to the underage vaping epidemic.
