Jewish disabled children denied equal access to special ed, suit says
“To be eligible as a placement for a student with a disability, the CDE [California Department of Education] must ‘certify’ an applicant school as a nonpublic school. To meet those certification requirements, California law requires the school to be non-sectarian,” Eric C. Rassbach of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty wrote.




Parents of Jewish children with disabilities filed a lawsuit in federal court accusing California of discriminating against religious schools and communities by excluding these schools from certain federal and state grants.
