Cultural Divorce, Part II: Not all interviews are made equal

Rushing to divorce is uncivil behavior. The extended time lag is required for the spouses to contemplate the consequences of divorce and for the family to intervene with solutions. This may take months, if not years.

Interviewing a culturally influenced Client is entering a sensitive zone of privacy. Crafted permission and careful application of protocols are required. Like other culturally related happenings, it is a ceremony, not a single event; it requires completing many steps. The Client's characteristics and Attorney's familiarity with cultural sensitivities affect the case-by-case process.
