Judge must wipe out $503M patent verdict against Apple
A U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit panel, in rulings a day apart, first affirmed a Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruling that the two key patents, covering a feature on virtual private networks, were invalid. The panel then cited that decision to order an Eastern District of Texas judge to dismiss the case as moot.
