State can continue antitrust claims against Amazon
Judge Ethan P. Schulman wrote that “The people’s detailed factual allegations adequately state a claim that Amazon’s agreements and policies have had the anticompetitive effect of raising prices and competing retail marketplaces as well as on third party seller’s own websites.”




A San Francisco judge refuses to dismiss civil antitrust and unfair competition claims California brought against Amazon.
“Having concluded that the complaint states a cause of action for violation of The Cartwright Act, the court necessarily concludes that it also states a viable cause of action for violation of the Unfair Competition Law, Bus. & Prof. Code § 17200,” the order stated.
