More states move to impose rules on litigation funding
In 2017, the Northern District of California federal court instituted a standing order requiring plaintiffs in class actions to disclose if they received third-party funding. It reiterated this requirement when it released new standing rules in January.




A bill pending in the California Legislature would put new disclosure rules on litigation funding contracts and the companies that offer them. But California already has a very limited example of what disclosure might look like.
