Caste discrimination: what employers need to know about California’s potentially new protected category
The California Civil Rights Department will be required to collect and analyze data on caste discrimination complaints, which means employers could face increased scrutiny and accountability in the event a caste discrimination complaint is filed against them.

Recently, the California Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously passed a bill that would add caste as a protected category in the state.
