Surf access plaintiffs seek discovery, appellate costs

The plaintiffs, who say they were bullied by local surfers trying to block outsiders, want access to a city-owned phone they say was used to coordinate intimidation from a bluff above Lunada Bay Beach in Palos Verdes Estates.

A beach harassment case in Los Angeles County picks up with a status conference in trial court on Friday following an appeals court ruling that gives the plaintiffs significant momentum. They now have to show that a Coastal Act violation took place when they were allegedly attacked by local surfers.
