Latest version of bar bill lists no fee increase for 2024
SB 40 currently also directs the bar to prepare proposed rules of conduct that would require attorneys to report colleagues who conspired or engaged in treason, sedition or insurrection but deem it an act of professional misconduct to report attorneys in order to intimidate or harass them.




Recent amendments to a State Bar bill moving through the Legislature would keep annual base licensing fees at $390 for active California attorneys in 2024.
The State Bar board and staff had lobbied for a $107 per year increase, which would have raised total active annual bar payments from $510 to $617.
