Study: California federal courts among fastest in the nation
California’s members of Congress have introduced at least two bills this year that would increase the number of federal judges in the state, including one from U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla last month.
Federal courts in California are doing more with less, according to a new study.
“California has the most federal civil lawsuits in the U.S. but manages to be among the fastest states to process them,” according to a news release Thursday from Scott Vicknair, LLC, a New Orleans-based personal injury and maritime law firm.
The state’s federal courts have long been among the most overburdened in the nation.
