Doctors must face trial for endoscopy that led to strokes

The lawsuit claims doctors erroneously advised the plaintiff to stop taking the blood thinner Xarelto for a week in advance of the procedure.

A Los Angeles County judge on Wednesday refused to issue a judgment on the pleadings to claims that an anesthesiologist and other medical workers botched an endoscopy, leading to life-altering strokes for the plaintiff.

Hearings on demurrers by additional co-defendants, as well as a motion to strike, are set to proceed on Thursday and Friday before Superior Court Judge Michael E. Whitaker.
