FTC tries again to halt Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision
FTC Chair Lina M. Khan, an appointee of President Joe Biden, has a mixed record in blocking mergers but has vowed to keep trying to block corporate acquisitions she believes are not in the public interest.




The Federal Trade Commission, which has lost two challenges to acquisitions in California district courts this year, will try again Wednesday in an appeal of Microsoft Corp.’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard before a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel.
The oral argument comes after Microsoft closed its $69 billion deal to buy the Santa Monica company, which makes the popular “Call of Duty” game.
