Buchalter anti-SLAPP motions denied in fraud claim case

“Contrary to plaintiff’s allegations, Buchalter has not engaged in any ‘conspiracy and scheme to defraud the creditors and shareholders of SHP. Buchalter has not taken any actions ‘to loot the assets of SHP,’” Buchalter attorney Marcus J. Williams declared.

A Los Angeles County judge denied anti-SLAPP motions by the Buchalter law firm to strike allegations of fraud, aiding and abetting breach of fiduciary duty and interference with prospective economic advantage connected to its representation of a wholesale produce company that closed down in 2021.

Buchalter has stated that its actions on behalf of its client were carried out properly.
