The social media platform claims that Bright Data illegally collected information from X users and sold it to third parties, which is prohibited under the plaintiff’s terms of service.

Elon Musk’s X Corp. can move forward with discovery in a breach of contract lawsuit filed against an Israeli internet scraping service as a federal judge denied on Wednesday the defendant’s motion for a stay.

“It’s unreasonable for you not to turn over discovery so they can understand who you’re selling these tools to,” U.S. District Judge William H. Alsup in San Francisco told an attorney for Bright Data Ltd. “That is ridiculous.”
