AG Bonta calls reduced budget ‘fiscally prudent’

The budget for the California Department of Justice has grown in recent years — until Gov. Gavin Newsom unveiled his draft 2024-25 budget on Wednesday.

Attorney General Rob Bonta saw his agency’s budget shrink for the first time in years this week. But he’s not complaining.
