Discipline proceeding against tweeting attorney is closed

Marla A. Brown shared 15 tweets in a 26-hour period in May 2020 urging rioters, looters and protesters to be shot.

A State Bar Court judge refused to reconsider the acquittal of a Los Angeles lawyer who was brought up on disciplinary proceeding for social media posts she made following the police murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020.

A lawyer for attorney Marla A. Brown expressed gratitude on Thursday that the case has been closed, but said she was dismayed that Brown’s reputation is “forever impacted.”
