Data scraping service wins dispute with social media giants

Meta Platforms claimed the Israeli company Bright Data reached its contract by unlawfully gathering information from Facebook and Instagram users and selling it to third parties.

An Israeli data scraping service did not violate its contract with Meta Platforms Inc. when collecting publicly available data from Facebook and Instagram, ruled a federal judge in San Francisco.
