Chinese firm claims to be instrument of state in espionage case

A lawyer for Pangang Group Co. Ltd. told the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals that the company is immune from prosecution.

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel considered an argument by a Chinese company that it is immune from economic espionage charges under common law because it is an instrument of the Chinese government.
