A federal jury in Los Angeles unanimously found celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D did not violate a photographer’s copyright of an image of jazz icon Miles Davis when she used it as a guide to ink a portrait of him on the arm of her friend and shared the results on social media.
The eight-person jury deliberated for under two hours and returned the decision to U.S. District Judge Dale S. Fischer.
