Broker failed to insure Lahaina Theater, Regency claims

“ARA’s lack of diligence and care left Regency wholly uninsured for its Lahaina Theater when in August 2023, the devastating Maui wildfires swept across the region and destroyed, among so many properties, the Lahaina Theater,” Susan P. White of Buchalter wrote.

An insurance broker failed to add a cinema in Lahaina, Hawaii to Regency Theaters’ policy before it was destroyed in the wildfire last year that devastated the Maui hamlet, a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court alleges.
