State’s vote by mail and other election laws challenged

The plaintiffs seek a declaration that the defendant counties’ lack of uniform vote counting laws and procedures are violations of the due process clause and equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

An attorney for a legal group told a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel that California’s elections have been undermined by years of laws and regulations, such as voting by mail, that should be overturned as unconstitutional.
