Fired Oakland police chief sues city for ousting him

LeRonne Armstrong’s attorneys accused the mayor of firing him after he publicly criticized an investigation led by federal monitor after being placed on administrative leave.

Former Oakland police chief LeRonne Armstrong sued the city for wrongful termination, accusing Mayor Shen Thao of ousting him in retaliation for his criticisms of a federal monitor overseeing reforms at the police department.
