Debate over parental involvement in education reignites

All youth, regardless of whether they are homeschooled or not, should be taught and assessed on a standardized basis to ensure they learn factual and historical information.

In October 2021, Democrat Terry McAuliff was running for the Governorship of Virginia – a position he previously held. During a debate with his Republican rival over transgender protections in public school, he uttered the infamous words that some claim doomed his candidacy: “I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decisions.” “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”
