$13 million verdict reached in LAUSD sexual abuse case
The school district had received notice that Daniel Garcia had dated a student at his previously assigned school before being transferred.
A Los Angeles jury awarded $13 million in emotional distress damages to a woman who said she was sexually abused during the 2014-15 school year by a special education aide at Daniel Pearl Magnet High School in Lake Balboa when she was 14 years old.
