En banc review granted in LDS Church tithing fraud lawsuit

The plaintiff claimed that the church used tithed money to finance commercial projects, including a shopping mall development and the bailout of a life insurance company.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals handed down an important win for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, granting an en banc review in a fraud lawsuit by a former member claiming the organization misrepresented how tithing donations were spent.
