Sempra deceived inspector about gas well safety, suit claims

The program manager, Kenneth Bruno, claims that Sempra did not disclose the high concentration of toxins in the well he was inspecting, which led to his development of a rare type of blood cancer.

A California Public Utilities Commission program manager’s claims that Sempra Energy deceived him about the safety of a leaking gas well he was sent to inspect in Porter Ranch are moving forward.

The company has demurred to all causes of action, and a hearing is scheduled for March 25. Sempra is represented by attorneys from O’Melveny & Myers LLP and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP.
