HSBC seeks dismissal of $1B claim of worker poaching

The lawsuit alleges that Silicon Valley Bank executive David Sabow targeted high-ranking employees who resigned after First Citizens Bank’s acquisition and promised them leadership roles at HSBC.

HSBC, which acquired Silicon Valley Bank’s U.K. branch after its collapse last year, asked a federal judge to dismiss a $1 billion lawsuit accusing the financial corporation of poaching more than 40 high-level employees and misusing proprietary information.
