Bill allowing injunctive relief in PAGA cases passes California Assembly

AB 2288 is sponsored by a coalition including the Consumer Attorneys of California, the California Employment Lawyers Association, the California Labor Federation, and the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation.

The state Assembly narrowly passed a bill that will allow courts to order injunctive relief in Private Attorney General Act cases.

The debate comes months before California voters will decide on an initiative that would overturn the 2003 law. The bill's author began the brief debate on Monday by claiming "California is in a labor enforcement crisis."
