NetGear accused of illegally gathering customer data

The company is accused of using software from TikTok and Salesforce to build profiles of users.

NetGear Inc., which provides software and hardware to connect customers to the internet, was accused of using "trap and trace" software from TikTok Inc., and customer chat services from Salesforce Inc., to illegally gather data from website visitors, such as geolocation data and internet browsing habits, in a proposed class action filed in Santa Clara County Superior Court.
