Engineering firm's collective bargaining agreement unlikely to fully cover wage claims

A lawsuit brought under PAGA accuses Smith-Emery of numerous wage and hour violations including failure to compensate employees for all hours worked.

The defense team for geotechnical engineering firm Smith-Emery of San Francisco Inc. does not believe the company’s collective bargaining agreement will defeat all the claims brought in a proposed class action accusing the company of engaging in a “systematic pattern of wage and hour violations.”
