Judge reprimands plaintiffs for last-minute changes in social media addiction case
The lawsuit, which names several popular social media companies including Meta Platforms Inc., Tiktok Inc., and Google LLC's YouTube, is scheduled for trial in October 2025.




The federal judge in Oakland overseeing multidistrict litigation against major social media companies accused of getting children addicted to their platforms chastised the plaintiffs' side for making last-minute adjustments to their fact sheets, saying these changes would upset the balance of next year's bellwether cases.
