Bonta sues Fresno County for refusing to move DA and sheriff elections

The lawsuit seeks an injunction invalidating Measure A, which the Board of Supervisors approved last year.

Attorney General Rob Bonta accused the County of Fresno of violating state law by moving up its next elections for district attorney and sheriff. Meanwhile, a coalition of liberal advocacy groups may be preparing to sidestep reluctant Democrats next year to push for significant changes to these types of races.
