The Los Angeles County Superior Court was cyberattacked by online pirates demanding ransom, forcing all 36 courthouses to close and causing numerous court systems to be brought down. The attack is not uncommon, as nearly 20 state, city, or municipal court systems have been targeted by ransomware groups since 2019.
