Legislature advances bills on State Bar, pro bono reporting

When all additional fees are included, a bar license will cost $553 for active licensees and $161 for an inactive license.

With the Legislature well into its final week of the two-year session, several pending bills could affect the work of attorneys.

On Monday, lawmakers passed measures to rein in the State Bar board of trustees, authorize the sale of older courthouses, and require attorneys to report on pro bono activities. Bills to continue the use of remote proceedings and authorize remote court reporters remained pending as of Tuesday afternoon.
