California Women Lawyers Mark Path to Career Fulfillment
The California Women Lawyers hosted its 3rd annual conference, titled “Building a Fulfilling Career: Lessons for Success” on April 29 at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens in downtown Los Angeles. Keynote speakers included Presiding Justice Joan Dempsey Klein of the Second District Court of Appeal, Division 3, as well as other prominent attorneys and judges from throughout the state. To educate lawyers on how to find fulfillment in their careers, topics of discussion included gender roles in the legal profession, advice on networking and going in-house, and finding satisfaction in government work and criminal law. The conference concluded with a cocktail reception honoring Judge Lee Smalley Edmon, the first woman elected to act as presiding judge of the Superior Court in Los Angeles County.
