MacIsaac regularly handles lawsuits and other business disputes on behalf of such entities and entertainment luminaries as the Estate of Michael Jackson, television producer Chuck Lorre, Ubisoft Entertainment S.A., and the conservators of Britney Spears.
MacIsaac, for instance, is representing the Estate of Michael Jackson on multiple fronts. A case in Probate Court seeks to establish the Estate's sole ownership of The Michael Jackson Co. LLC against claims asserted by his former publicist and others. She is also defending the estate against a related civil lawsuit filed by the same claimants seeking damages based on their purported rights in The Michael Jackson Co.
MacIsaac said her most interesting case may have been in 2007 when she represented Spark Unlimited, a Sherman Oaks-based video game developer, in a dispute against industry pioneer Activision Publishing Inc.
"That was the first video game case I represented and it was a very interesting and intense dispute over royalties," MacIsaac said adding that the case was settled.
Another major victory for MacIsaac was representing Ubisoft Entertainment, one of the world's largest video game publishers, in a license dispute against MGA Entertainment Inc., the owner of the girl doll property known as "Bratz," which resulted in a $13 million award in favor of her client back in 2008
In other high wattage matters, MacIsaac has defended television producer Chuck Lorre against an action brought by Charlie Sheen over the television show Two and a Half Men. She represented Claire Staples in a lawsuit against former business partner Paul McKenna, a well-known British hypnotist and self-help guru in a case involving employment and a dispute over the ownership of real estate, and *represented (as civil litigation counsel) Kai Morris in her divorce from legendary singer and songwriter Stevie Wonder. She additionally represented conservators of Britney Spears in a civil action brought by her former branding agent concerning commissions related to Spears' various perfumes.
