Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP Menlo Park Corporate Specialty: capital markets/mergers & acquisitions

Denenberg's practice is a mixed bag.

"It's a combination of things that is more or less equally divided between capital markets work, M&A and general corporate advice," he said, "as opposed to being more focused on one particular area."

In July, Denenberg and fellow Menlo Park-based Davis Polk corporate partner Mischa Travers led the firm's mergers and acquisitions team in the representation of Ingram Micro Inc. in its $840 million purchase of Indianapolis-based Brightpoint Inc., a provider of supply chain and customization solutions to wireless device manufacturers, retailers and carriers.

On the capital markets side, Denenberg led the Davis Polk team in advising the underwriters in connection with an initial public offering of 8,222,500 shares of common stock of Yelp Inc. in March.

He represents a variety of corporate clients, including Equinix Inc., Ingram Micro, Smart Modular Technologies Inc. and QuinStreet Inc., as well as investment banks such as JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Corp., Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Denenberg has been at Davis Polk for 12 years, and prior to that he spent five years practicing in Asia as a partner for Shearman & Sterling LLP.

"For Shearman & Sterling, I helped them reopen their Hong Kong office, and then I opened their Singapore office," Denenberg said.

Now Denenberg heads the 60-lawyer team of attorneys at Davis Polk's Menlo Park office.

"We have a great team," he said. "Our approach is that we bring a good blend of deep technical expertise that one would expect from a global firm but do it in the context of understanding the valley and the needs of local tech and life sciences companies."
