Youth Law Center honors ‘unsung heroes’

On Dec. 5, the Youth Law Center, a nonprofit organization recently recognized as one of the nine best high-impact charities serving children at risk, held its annual Loren Warboys Unsung Heroes event at Bingham McCutchen’s offices in San Francisco. The event recognized three honorees: Cassandra Gonzalez, a youth formerly in care who currently advocates on behalf of youth and families in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems in Los Angeles; Cathi Huerta, the recently retired director of Fresno County Social Services; and Jane Soltis, the vice president of the Florida-based Eckerd Family Foundation.
