The Western Justice Center Foundation held its 2011 Builders of Peace Gala this past Saturday at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The event featured Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as its keynote speaker. Honorees included the Los Angeles-based, minority-owned law firm of Lim, Ruger & Kim LLP and the late Warren Christopher, former U.S. Secretary of State. The foundation recognized the individuals for their service in finding ways to reconcile the differences of others in a harmonious and just fashion. The event also served as a fundraiser for the Western Justice Center and featured a silent auction and performances by Samantha Kim. — Henry Meie
